Cold Plunge Tracker — log every session, build the streak.

Cold practice compounds. The streak is the proof. TrackCold logs every plunge to a searchable Saga, tracks streaks up to 365 days against Norse-themed quests, and unlocks rune achievements as you go. Free to download.

Why log every plunge

The session you don't log doesn't compound.

Cold practice rewards consistency over intensity. A spreadsheet works for a week. A Notes file works for a month. Then you skip a day, then a week, then it's gone. A purpose-built tracker exists so the logging takes one tap and the data persists across years.

If you'd rather start with the spreadsheet, take ours: a free cold exposure log template with the eleven columns worth keeping. It makes the honest case better than any pitch does — a spreadsheet works before and after the plunge, an app works during it.

Compounding evidence

47 days of logged plunges is harder to skip than 47 days you can't remember. The Saga is the proof you can scroll through on a hard morning.

Accountability without an audience

TrackCold has no social feed. The accountability is internal — you, your streak, and the rune you're working toward. No likes, no posts.

Before-and-after data

Notes on each session — water temp, how you felt, sleep quality. Pattern-spot over time: which protocols correlated with your best days.

A streak worth keeping, not defending

Norse quests run from 7 to 365 days — Awakening is free, and Asgard goes to Yggdrasil's Path. The counter is there to show the practice is real, never to argue you into a session you shouldn't take.

How TrackCold tracks

Five layers of tracking, one tap each.

Saga (history)

Every session, searchable and filterable. Date, duration, mode, ritual name, freeform notes. Asgard premium adds CSV export.

Rune achievements

Unlock runes for milestones: your first session (First Frost), ten minutes in the cold (Hailstorm), thirty unbroken days (Ættarfylgja), a hundred sessions (Mjölnir). Each rune has a story.

Streaks & quests

Norse quests from 7-day Awakening (free) to 365-day Yggdrasil's Path. Each quest has a streak counter and a story arc.

Apple Health sync

Sessions write to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes + Other workouts. Free on every tier.

iCloud sync

Your Saga lives in your private iCloud, syncing across iPhone and Apple Watch. Nothing reaches a TrackCold server.

Hot ↔ cold contrast logging

Multi-round sessions log the full structure — every cold and hot phase, every round count — not just one flat duration.

For athletes

Cold exposure, tracked the way you track training.

Nobody logs their runs because a run is interesting on its own. They log them because a season of them is. Cold exposure is the same and almost nobody treats it that way — which is why most people cannot tell you whether their practice this month is harder than it was in spring, or the same three easy minutes with better lore attached.

Consistency, not heroics

One brutal session is a story. Twelve ordinary ones in a month are training. The Saga shows which of the two you actually did.

Weekly cold time

Total minutes in the cold per week is the closest thing to a training load here, and the variable most protocols are written in — Huberman's 11 minutes a week, for one.

Timing around your training

Cold right after heavy lifting can blunt the adaptation you trained for. With every session dated, you can see how your plunges actually sit relative to your hard sessions instead of guessing.

Temperature, not just duration

Three minutes at 12°C and three minutes at 3°C are not the same dose. Logging the water temperature is what makes two sessions comparable at all.

What this is not. TrackCold records what you did and shows you the trend. It cannot show that a session caused a recovery outcome, and no app can — that takes a controlled study, not a history. For what the research does and doesn't support, see cold plunge and muscle growth and the contrast therapy guide.
