My name is Artyom Sklyarov. I'm a triathlete and a long-distance runner. Six years of triathlon and a dozen-plus marathons in, three minutes in the cold is as fixed in my training week as the long run on Sunday — the difference between a Tuesday hill session and a missed week of training.
I'm also a data person. I tracked every plunge in a spreadsheet for years — duration, water temp, mood, heart rate, sleep the night before, how the legs felt the next morning. I wanted to know what actually worked, which protocol moved the recovery needle, and which ones were superstition. Nothing on the App Store treated the cold the way athletes track miles, splits, or watts. So I built the one I wanted on my wrist.
TrackCold is one person, hand-written, no investors. The runes are named on purpose. The lore is mine. The cold is older than fitness — the app should be quieter than fitness, too.
Designed with intention
Dark Norse aesthetic. Saga serif typography for titles, monospaced labels for precision. Custom palette of fjord blues, ember ambers, and rune gold. Twenty rune achievements drawn from Elder Futhark. Two pre-loaded rituals: Frostbite (a 3-minute cold plunge) and Ginnungagap (a 4-round contrast session, named after the primordial void).
None of this is decoration. The lore is the structure. Each challenge has a story, each achievement carries a name from the sagas. The premium tier is called Asgard — because if you're going to gate features, gate them on a meaningful threshold, not a paywall asterisk.
What makes it different
Purpose-built for cold
Multi-round contrast support up to 20 rounds. Independent durations for cold and warm phases. Dual temperature tracking in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Warm-first or cold-first starts. Built-in transition countdowns.
Native to Apple
100% SwiftUI, iOS 17+. Standalone Apple Watch app, Live Activities, Home Screen widgets, HealthKit, iCloud sync. Designed for the device, not ported to it.
Privacy by architecture
Zero third-party SDKs. No analytics, no trackers, no ads. No account required — your data lives on your device and your private iCloud. HealthKit data never leaves your phone.
Built by one person
No team, no investors, no growth team. Just a single developer who plunges every morning and wanted a tracker that didn't feel like a fitness app from 2014.
The vision
Cold therapy works because it's hard. The point of TrackCold isn't to make it easier — it's to make it visible. Every session you log becomes part of your saga. Every quest you finish becomes a story you can tell. Every rune you earn marks something real.
If that sounds heavy, good. The cold is heavy. So should the app be.
Begin your saga.
Free to download. Awakening, the first quest, is free. Asgard premium starts at $4.99/month with a 7-day free trial.
